This time, a different edition of 'Across the Border', because we stumbled upon such a fun list of names!
"This is what we'll call our baby" – our mom brought that book over the other day. We've been racking our brains searching for name lists online; the lists are endless, and that doesn't make choosing any easier. Back in the day, things were a bit different. You had little books like this one. It's so much fun to read the trends from back then and quite funny to see so many names of ourselves, friends, and acquaintances in there. How American series were such a huge influence at the time, and how special it was if you had an 'international' name ;-)
Yet we see a lot of names from back then coming back around! For instance, we make lots of pacifier clips with names like Jesse, Fem(ke), and Lotte. Names that were also very popular in the 90s. Perhaps it’s because most new moms & dads are from that era and are opting for something recognizable and classic after all!
